Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Measure out the desired amount of rice using a measuring cup.
  • Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water to remove any excess starch.
  • In a pot, add the rinsed rice and the appropriate amount of liquid. Typically, the ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1¾ cups of liquid, but check the packaging for specific instructions.
  • Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and bring the liquid to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once the liquid reaches a rolling boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer the rice for the recommended cooking time, usually around 15-20 minutes.
  • After the cooking time is up, remove the pot from the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes to allow for final absorption and fluffing.
